3.900 Candidates Invited in Latest Express Entry Draw by Canadian Government on October 30

Government of Canada issued more than 70,000 invitations this year.

Canada has held its latest express entry draw on October 30 and issued a total of 3.900 invitations (ITA) to candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Cut-off score to receive ITA in this draw was 475.

With the last draw, total of invitations issued through Canada’s Express Entry system reached to 71,700.

The previous draw was held on October 2, 2019 and total of 3.900 ITAs were issued to candidates.

The cut-off score of 475 was an increase of 11 points from the previous draw on October 2.

In order to be selected from the Express Entry candidate pool, a job offer is not required.

Serving as Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, the federal Express Entry system manages the three economic immigration categories namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) and Canada Experience Class (CEC).

An invitation to apply (ITA) was issued to those selected candidates. Invited candidates received ITAs are expected to complete their permanent residence applications within 60 days.

As of October 25, 2019, total of 131.399 candidates are registered in express entry pool of candidates.

Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada are entered into the Express Entry pool where they are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.

CRS score is based on factors including age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English and French Language among others.

There is no need for a job offer to be eligible for the Express Entry candidate pool.

In regular draws from the pool, which regularly happen to be every two weeks, the highest ranked candidates are issued invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

A candidate should improve his CRS score in a number of ways. One of them is being nominated by a province. A nomination through Canada’s provincial nominee program is the most valuable in terms of points.

A person with provincial nomination receives 600 points toward their CRS score which almost guarantees and invitiation to apply for Canadian permanent residence status.

Many provinces including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Mantioba and Ontario have expres entry aligned immigration streams in their provincial immigration programs.

The other way of increasing CRS score is to improve English or French. With improved Language scores (IELTS, TEF, CELPIP etc) candidate can increase his CRS score for sure.

Students who studied in Canada will also get extra points for their minimum of two semesters post secondary education in Canada.

Given Canada’s higher targets for admission in 2019 and 2020, we hope more frequent or larger draws will be held resulting decreasing CRS score.
