Since 2015 Express Entry system is in our
life. Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) uses Express Entry to
manage applications for permanent residence for Federal Skilled Worker Program
(FSW), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Canadian
provinces can also select candidates from the Express Entry pool to meet their
own labour market needs.
If you are eligible for Express Entry you
will first register and then will be placed in Express Entry pool of candidates
for immigration to Canada.
All candidates in the pool will be ranked a
point-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). When a draw
is made IRCC select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite
them to apply for permanent residence (PR) status.
Therefore, just being placed in the pool does not mean you will be invited to Canada. You will have a CRS score and if your score is above the minimum required score in a particular draw then you will receive an invitation (ITA) to finalize your immigration application.
As of January 18, 2018 score distribution of
candidates in the Express Entry Pool are shown in the table below published by
IRCC. What does that distribution mean for you?
IRCC’s distribution table of candidates in
the express entry pool is provided below. It shows total number of candidates
and their CRS score ranges.
This is not a final score distribution and it
changes as people submit new profiles and other profiles are selected or expire.
The last EE draw was on January 24, 2018 and
2.750 invitations were issued for candidates scoring 444 and more.
When we look at the table we see that there
are less candidates left above the score 440. So I assume that on the next
express entry draw minimum CRS score would be between 430-441.
For the last six draws, total of 2.750
invitations were issued for each of them and the minimum required CRS points ranged
between 439-446. Right now there are 11.180 candidates above 421 CRS score. If
your score is less then 420 you should consider improving your CRS score as
soon as possible.
Taking consideration of the current trend of
draws, I can also assume that upcoming 10 draws to be above 425.
If you are a candidate placed in the pool you
should consider all options to improve your CRS score.
