3.600 Express Entry Candidates Invited for Canadian Permenanet Residence

Total of 3.600 invitations are issued in a new Express Entry draw by Canadian government on July 24. The draw’s cut off score was 459.

In the previous draw of July 10, the cut off score was 460 and, in that draw, total of 3.600 invitations are issued to selected candidates.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is set at 459 which is one point lower than the previous draw held June 10.

An invitation to apply (ITA) was issued to those selected candidates. Invited candidates received ITAs are expected to complete their permanent residence applications within 60 days.

As of July 19, 2019, total of 114.290 candidates are registered in express entry pool of candidates.

Serving as Canada’s main source of skilled foreign workers, the federal Express Entry system manages the three economic immigration categories namely the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trade Class (FSTC) and Canada Experience Class (CEC).

Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada are entered into the Express Entry pool where they are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.

CRS score is based on factors including age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English and French Language among others.

There is no need for a job offer to be eligible for the Express Entry candidate pool.

In regular draws from the pool, which regularly happen to be every two weeks, the highest ranked candidates are issued invitation to apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence.

When more time passes between draws, more people are register which increase the number of people in the pool and cut-off score as well.

In the past, all program draws in the Express entry system are regualarly held every two weeks.

A candidate should improve his CRS score in a number of ways. One of them is being nominated by a province. A nomination through Canada’s provincial nominee program is the most valuable in terms of points.

A person with provincial nomination receives 600 points toward their CRS score which almost guarantees and invitiation to apply for Canadian permanent residence status.

Many provinces including British Columbia, Alberta, SAskatchewan, Mantioba and Ontario have expres entry aligned immigration streams in their provincial immigration programs.

The other way of increasing CRS score is to improve English or French. With improved Language scores (IELTS, TEF, CELPIP etc) candidate can increase his CRS score for sure.

Students who studied in Canada will also get extra points for their minimum of two semesters post secondary education in Canada.

Given Canada’s higher targets for admission in 2019 and 2020, we hope more frequent or larger draws will be held resulting decreasing CRS score.

If you are between 18-35 years old and have at least a bachelor degree with minimum one year of skilled work experience and having good command of English and/or French you are a good candidate for Canada immigration.

Let’s say you are 32 years old with a master’s degree and have been working as an engineer for three years. You took and IELTS exam and scored 8 in each category. Your CRS score would be 462 which would have been high enough to obtain and ITA in the last draw.
