The province’s immigrant
nominee program (OINP) invited 24 immigrant entrepreneurs in its latest draw on
June 24.
As of today, total of 70
immigrant entrepreneurs are invited through Entrepreneurs Stream under OINP on
three different draws in 2020.
In the latest draw on June 24
candidates with scores between 134 and 200 received EOIs (Expression of
Interest).
In order to be selected by
OINP’s most categories, candidates first have to registered at OINP by creating
profile of expression of interest.
Eligibility requirements for
the Entrepreneur stream depend on the proposed business location in Ontario.
For proposed business to be
opened in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) area there is net worth requirement of $800,000
and minimum investment amount of $600,000. For proposed business to be opened out
of GTA there is net worth requirement of $400,000 and minimum investment amount
of $200,000.
Among other criteria entrepreneur
candidates should also need at least 2 years of business experience as an owner
or manager within 5 years.
